When powering on the device, the screen shows an access message and the device will not take any pictures or go to the menu.

Most likely the issue developed from the memory stick. In order to fix the problem, you will need to delete the DCIM or the MISC. This should resolve the issue.

The lens is stuck in the extended position, and will not retract back into the camera.

Ensure that the camera is fully charged, and remove the battery. Then reinstall the battery, and power on the camera. Be sure not to force the lens back into the camera.

The camera is unresponsive when trying to power on the device.

If the device will not turn on, attempt plugging the device in to charge the device. If the device is still unresponsive, then the battery is defective and may need to be replaced

If, after making sure the battery is working, but the device will still not turn on, then the device may have a defective motherboard and it will need to be replaced.

When powering on your device, the device itself will power on but the screen stays blank.

Locate the reset button on the device, and insert a pointed object (such as a paperclip) into the reset button hole. Press and hold the reset button for three seconds, then release it to reset the camera.

If, after powering the device on, and the screen is unresponsive but the device is powered on, then the device has a defective display and the LCD will need to be replaced in order for the screen to work.
