The Sony Handicap DCR-SR 47 contains a 60GB HDD with a 60x optical zoom. The camera also has 2.7" touch screen display, and features the fist Sony lens with SteadyShotTM image stabilization.

If your camera does not turn on, or respond to the power button in anyway, such as the screen stays off, the lights stay off, or the camera doesn’t respond in general, check the following:
If the adapter is plugged in, the light should turn on. If the light does not turn on, replace your adapter. If the adapter light turns on, and the battery still does not charge, replace your battery.
If it is not the battery, then it is possible you have a faulty hard drive.
If your camera refuses to charge, please check the following:
Make sure the battery adapter is lighting up when it is plugged in. If it is not, the battery adaptor is broken, and needs to be replaced.
If the battery adapter is working, but it still won’t charge. Then the battery is damaged or broken, and needs to be replaced.
If your camera is not recording, check the following:
It is possible the camera’s temperature is too hot, and it needs to sit while turned off for several hours (at least 3) to cool down.
It is possible the hard drive is full, and some of the content on your hard drive should be moved to your computer or deleted.
If you remove or delete the content on your hard drive, and your camera still doesn’t record, then it is possible your hard drive is damaged and needs to be replaced.
If your camera is successfully recording video, but that video has no sound, please check the following:
if that is the case, let your camera sit while turned off for several (at least 3) hours to cool.
If it is not any of the above, then it is possible that, and it needs to be replaced.
If your camera is plugged into your computer, but it is not registering with the computer itself, please check the following:
Try plugging it in with a different USB cable (if you have one).
Try plugging your camera into a different computer, and see if it registers there.
It is possible that the USB ports on the camera are malfunctioning, and may need to be replaced.
It is also possible that the hard drive is malfunctioning, and needs to be replaced.
If your camera is plugged into your computer, but the videos and images taken with your camera are not showing up on your computer, please check the following:
The images on your computer were somehow deleted, most likely by human error.
If it happens multiple times, then it most likely means your hard drive is broken or damaged, and it needs to be replaced.
If the pictures and recordings taken are blurry, or appear to be wavy, please check the following:
You can find the auto-turn settings under the options menu.
It is also possible your camera has a cracked or broken lense, and needs to be replaced.
If your camera has wavy lines on the images it has taken or recorded, then the flex cable has been broken or damaged and needs to be replaced.
