Released February 2013, Sony MDR-X05 Headphones.

You are experiencing no audio on one side/ both sides, static or crackling sounds.

Ensure the audio jack is firmly plugged into the headphone jack of the audio source or device, audio that cuts in and out is often a sign of a loose audio jack, so make sure the audio jack is fully inserted in the computer.

Locate the volume piece of the headphones and raise the volume to the highest.

If audio is being heard from the left side of the headphones only, make sure the device from which it is connected has stereo output capability. Generally, if a device has an output jack labelled earphone, it will be mono, while an output jack labelled headphone will be stereo.
