You cannot get the speaker to turn on.

Be sure the speaker is plugged into the power adapter when not in use. This will ensure a fully charged battery when you use your speaker.

If the power button cannot be pressed, there may be something around it holding it up. To fix this, try cleaning the button panel with a clean cloth, and remove any dirt on the buttons.

Sometimes after extended use of the speaker, wear and tear may occur on the battery. If this happens, follow this guide to replace the battery.

The speaker shows no signs of charging even when plugged in to a power outlet.

If your Sony SRS-BTX500 indicates that it needs to be charged even when plugged in to a power outlet, try using a different outlet to charge the device. It is possible that the outlet you are trying to use might not be functioning properly.

If your Sony SRS-BTX500 indicates that it needs to be charged even when plugged in to a power outlet, your charger may be broken. It is possible that the wire or adapter is faulty. Try using a different charger to charge the speaker.

If your Sony SRS-BTX500 indicates that it needs to be charged even when plugged in to a power outlet, your charging port my be damaged. It is possible that the charging port on the device is faulty and must be replaced to allow the device to charge.

Speaker is connected to device, but no audio is being played.

If audio is not playing through the Sony SRS-BTX500, the speaker may be muted or on low volume. First check the speaker’s volume and adjust to make it louder. If there is still no audio, make sure the device is not muted. If volume adjustments are accessible on the connected device, turn the volume up on that device.

Check to make sure the device is correctly paired through Bluetooth. The speaker may be paired with a different device. If using an AUX input, make sure the chord is properly connected to the device and speaker.

Audio is being played but it cuts in and out or crackles.

If connecting with Bluetooth, make sure your device is relatively close to the Sony SRS-BTX500. Move either the speaker or the device closer in proximity.

If using an AUX input, the chord may not be fully connected to the speaker or device. Make sure the AUX chord is not damaged.
