Check and make sure that the computer is charged. See if when you press the power button the CPU, fan, and hard drive are booting up if not you may simply have an uncharged device. To do this, plug in the AC/DC charger into the laptop and plug the other end into an outlet. If the computer was simply not charged it should power on now.
When you first connect a second monitor, Windows should detect it and automatically duplicate the screen on both displays. If you don’t see an image on the second screen, locate the function key which shows two monitors. Press the Fn key and then the F4 key and it should toggle through the various configurations: laptop display only, laptop + external screen, external screen only. If this is working then the problem may lie with the LCD screen.
If you have taken amazing care of your Vaio laptop you may wake up one day to find that your computer no longer turns on, unless it’s plugged in with the charger. This is a telltale sign of a faulty battery. The battery can no longer hold a charge. This part must be replaced.
If the LCD screen is turning on but is cracked or has a black spot, as if ink was spilled on your screen. You should first try going to the manufacturer’s website to find your video card driver and reinstall the driver. If the screen still looks cracked, as if ink has been injected into your screen you should try replacing your screen.
If you click ctrl+alt+Delete and open task manager. Go to performance and look at your “Memory” if you are using about 90%+ you should think about getting more ram. If you have decided to get more ram either because it is bad or you are upgrading to more ram then this is how you install more ram. Link
You may notice inconsistent drops in your frame rate, spontaneous crashing of applications, softwares, and a slow response time. This is possibly you’re ram being damaged. In order to check this you must run a stress test on your ram to see how it performs. The stress test can reveal if it is an Hardware of a Driver issue. Check what model your laptop is in Device Manager and then go to the website and download the latest drivers for your version of Windows.
Often when a computer overheats, it’s due to dust clogging ventilation.Use a can of compressed air to open up air passageways.
Your heatsink fan may not have enough contact with the computer’s processor. Usually this can be fixed by reapplying thermal paste. Start by completely removing any previous thermal paste. Apply a bead sized drop of thermal paste in the center of the processor. Tighten all screws and be sure the heatsink is seated appropriately on the processor.
If your entire keyboard seems to be unresponsive, you may need to update your drivers. Follow this guide to update your keyboard drivers. If this does not fix the issue, you may need to replace the entire keyboard. To replace the entire keyboard follow this guide.
When you are unable to physically press a key, there may be an obstruction underneath the key. To fix this issue, remove the key by gently prying it off it’s switch. Clean and remove any obstructions in the way. Once clean, apply pressure to snap the key back into place.
If you are missing keys from your keyboard, you may purchase replacement keys and snap them into place by applying minimal pressure.
Ensure that your computer’s volume is not muted. Also ensure that the volume in the application you are using is also unmuted.
Go to your device manager and click on sound, video, and game controllers. Ensure there is no yellow or red exclamation marks near your sound device. After, update the drivers. The best thing to do is to see what manufacture and model it is in Device Manager and then go to the website and download the latest drivers for your version of Windows.
