Computer shuts down on it’s own at random without being prompted to.
If your device is plugged in, unplug it from the power source. Now turn your device to it back and look unto the top part. You should find some slide buttons, slide them all the way and carefully take out the battery source. Wait ten seconds then put it back in and plug the power source. If the problem persists, visit the battery replacement guide.
Most importantly turn off the device. Now open the it a little bit and leave it to cool down. You can use a vacuum cleaner to suck out dust from the back panels. I would recommend having the vacuum on the lowest setting.
When you try to go onto the internet and the only screen that pops up is “Not Connected”, or the internet does not say connected on the device.
The WiFi on the device might be turned off and needs to be manually turned on.
How to turn WiFi on: Visit internet settings on the device and turn on the WiFi settings
LAN cable not connected – If you aren’t connected to WiFi and using LAN wire, make sure wire is properly connected.
If connection is not solved through the previous, the next step would be to assess if the connection issues are from the router rather than computer. Try restarting on the router or consulting your internet service provider.
If the problems still persists then your wireless card is damaged and needs to reinstalled.
You can see a screen on the display but nothing happens, when you click and your stuck on the screen.
Install credible antivirus software when the computer responds and scan the whole system. Furthermore back up your important documents and format the system.
Running too many applications/software at once takes up a lot of memory capacity on the device. Open the task manager manual by pressing Ctrl+alt+del then click on task manger. Then end as much tasks as you can.
There is a considerable delay when clicking on an icon or when device is running slower than usual.
Install the next available software update for the device. If device does not show the next available update, check on the Sony website for possible available updates. Once software update is found, follow the instructions the update provides on the screen.
After device is updated, if the device is still running slow, it is possible that there is too much data in the hard-drive. A quick solution to this problem would be to export all files that you would like to keep onto a separate external hard drive or even the cloud. After all files have been stored somewhere else, a quick factory reset should do the trick of wiping all of the previous data. After this process the laptop should be running good as new.
Another way to fix the storage issue would be to install a more updated newer hard-drive that can hold more data. Please refer to our hard-drive replacement guide for more information.
Computer crashes and shows blue screen showing error code. There are various reasons why this type of crash occurs. The error is usually stated as to what is going on with the device.
If the blue screen states that the BIOS software may need to be reset, then it is best to go and reset this part of the device.
The BIOS can be accessed by turning off device completely and pressing the assist button until a black screen appears. At this screen, click or arrow to BIOS setup. Once there, scroll through BIOS setup area and make changes as needed. Changes can be saved by pressing F9 on the keyboard. To exit, press ESC , which will bring you to the exit screen the click or arrow to exit.
