Your laptop will abruptly shut down, have blue screen crashes and will freeze.
Cooling fans in the laptop may be dirty or clogged and need to be cleaned. If the fans continuously build up more and more dirt, the laptop will not be able to release any of the heat it generates.
Warmer temperatures can play a hand in overheating the laptop. If the problem persists, try taking it into a cooler environment.
A laptop can start to overheat if a new hardware (not manufacturer approved) was added. If this is the case, check if the component you added is compatible with your laptop.
Sometimes manufacturers will sell hardware without testing it beforehand to make sure it works sufficiently. If the hardware is the issue, the laptop will not be able to boot up and/or will not be able to detect the software. To fix this, return the faulty firmware and purchase one that manufacturers have tested.
Your hard drive will crash if there is not enough ventilation or a fault in the fan. You must thoroughly clean the fans and vents in the laptop in order to fix this issue and allow sufficient cooling.
If your computer shuts down or restarts on its own, this may be an issue of a failed hard drive due to corrupted files. These can be caused by improperly shutting down your device, powering off the laptop while there are running programs still open, or using untrustworthy programs. To avoid this, one must properly shut down their computer and stay away from any suspicious-looking programs or websites while browsing.

Electrical spikes and surges are bad for your computer’s motherboard and capacitors. It is important to make sure to use a surge protector with your laptop. This helps to counter bad outlets or power surges.
Dropping of the laptop can cause things to come loose or break off. If pieces break off the motherboard or the capacitors come loose then it will mess with the electrical flow. Liquid spills also are a major cause of problems. This will cause an electrical short.
Power surges or electrical surges through your laptop can damage many things including the RAM. It is important to make sure to use a surge protector when plugging your laptop in. Also when working on your own computer make sure to ground yourself and get rid of even static charge as even this little amount of electricity can cause problems.
An abundance of heat will cause parts such as RAM to wear out. It is important to make sure vents are clean and able to vent properly. Other parts overheating can also cause damage to parts nearby.
The memory module may have passed through quality control and worsened over time which can also cause problems to your RAM. This is the most common cause.
