Screen on device is damaged or cracked.

With visible screen damage, replace screen with this guide.

Device won’t turn on after being fully charged.

Plug the charger into the device. Verify the device is charging by checking to see if the red LED light is on. If the device only powers up when the charger is plugged in, regardless of charging time, then the battery may not be holding a charge. Replace the battery using this guide.

Remove the battery and plug the charger into the device. If the device turns on, the motherboard is still getting power, but not from the battery. Follow this guide to reconnect your battery to the motherboard.

There is no sound coming from the speakers on your device.

Check your sound settings to see if your device is muted. If mute is enabled, disable it. See “Headphone Jack Malfunctioning” below if you device still does not produce sound.

Plug a set of headphones into the headphone jack. If audio does not come through the headphones, then the headphone jack may be loose or malfunctioning. If you receive sound through your headphones, then your speakers may be malfunctioning. See the Speaker Replacement page for a guide on replacing the speakers in your device.

Home button does not respond when pressed.

Check to see if the home button does not work when pressed, then look at the back of the device. Find the reset button on the back of the device. Press the reset button with a paperclip or similar tool to hard reset the device.

Check to see if the home button does not work upon being pressed, the wires to the motherboard may be disconnected. Follow this guide to reestablish connections on motherboard.
