Screen cannot be seen when plugged into TV for the first time.
Make sure TV is displaying appropriate video source. Use the Input, Source, or TV/ Video button on your TV remote to change video sources. If trouble, refer to TV owner’s manual. Make sure cables are connected to one OUT jack and one IN jack. Try pressing FORMAT button on the TiVo front panel several times, and cycle through various video formats. If TiVo is connected to A/V receiver and are having trouble finding correct input, try connecting TiVo directly to TV. Check cables that you own and make sure none are damaged; your equipment may be defective. Use cables that are known to work properly.
Check if the power source is connected in the correct ports. If the TiVo does not turn on, it is probably an issue with your TV’s power source or the TiVo’s power source. If plugs are in correctly, the problem may arise from the power supply. Replacements need to be made.
Every time I go to see a show I recorded, it does not pop up.
Try and turn on your TiVo; If you don’t hear a spinning sound from the box, the hard drive has most likely died or is in failure. Contact the TiVo company and ask to receive a new hard drive.
Check hard drive and make sure all circuit components are aligned properly or see if any are missing. If spotted any burnt or worn-down wires, contact TiVo company to receive a new one.
TiVo often gets very hot to the touch and begins to malfunction after an extended amount of time while in use.
If the unit feels excessively hot, the fan needs to be checked if it is still working. If the TiVo is overheated and the fan is continuously working, the TiVo box may need to be placed in a different area permanently. However, if the fan is not working while the box is overheated, the fan needs to be replaced due to being broken. A broken fan will cause the TiVo component to overheat due to the cooling component not working.
TiVo consists of video freeze, blank screen, or problematic audio.
If the TiVo is working and menu is seen visually, the problem may be with the input. test the input with another device, if this fails, then the input is not working. Connect working cables that show the receiving output.
No sound is coming out of my television when I am wanting to watch my TiVo.
Check the testing mechanism of the input; connect directly to the TV. If the TiVo is working and the menu is available to see, then the problem is possibly the input. If nothing works, the input is not functional.
View the cables and see if any are damaged or aren’t receiving; check and see the cables are connected and fully functional. If not functional, use cables that are known to work.
