The cable connection to the computer is weak/nonexistent.
Check the power jack for possible obstructions. You could blow air into the jack, or purchase a specialized cleaning device, such as compressed air.
Check for possible damage to the power jack on both the cable and the computer. If the damage is on the cable, you should purchase a new one. If it is on the computer, see Toshiba Satellite C50D-A Power Jack Replacement.
The CD player isn’t functioning properly. The computer doesn’t register the CD, or won’t play it.
Examine your CD to determine whether it is scratched, or broken. Try using it on a different device to see if it has a similar issue.

Your computer turns off unexpectedly, or becomes hot.

Can you determine if the issue is due to dust or a broken part? If it is dust, purchase an air compressor and blow it into the air vents on the bottom of your laptop. If not, see Toshiba Satellite C50D-A Fan Replacement.
The computer will not start charging, even though it is plugged in.
Check to make sure the cable is plugged into the correct space and that it is connected to an outside power source – the outlet. Make sure that everything is properly plugged in.
