Introduction
The power jack has been a common problem with the Toshiba Satellite laptops and the replacement is quick and relatively inexpensive.
Before using this guide, make sure to review the troubleshooting page to ensure this replacement is necessary.
Make sure to power off your laptop completely and disconnect from any external power source prior to beginning the process.
What you need
Step 1
DC Power Jack
- Remove the ten 1 mm screws that secure the back cover using a Phillip’s #1 screwdriver.

- Use plastic opening tool to separate the back cover from the laptop.
- Go slowly and be careful as the plastic can crack.
- It is recommended that you start from a corner and run the tool along the edge

Step 3
- Using a Phillips # 1 screwdriver, remove the three screws holding the bracket over the ports on the right side.
- Remove the bracket.

Step 4
- Unplug the power cable harness from the motherboard.
- Lift the power jack out of its slot in the top right corner.
- Remove the cable.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
