Introduction

Removing the Exhalation Corner Assembly is discussed in service manual revision D:

  • Chapter 4: Assembly and Disassembly, Pg 51-52

Step 1

              Viasys Avea Exhalation Corner Assembly Removal               
  • Check to see if the exhalation filter assembly is installed, if it is, remove the exhalation filter assembly.
  • Rotate the metal locking lever on the lower right of the ventilator body forward to an open position.
  • Remove the exhalation filter assembly from the ventilator body by pulling straight down.

Check to see if the exhalation filter assembly is installed, if it is, remove the exhalation filter assembly.

Rotate the metal locking lever on the lower right of the ventilator body forward to an open position.

Remove the exhalation filter assembly from the ventilator body by pulling straight down.

Step 2

  • Using a long Phillips screwdriver, remove the Phillips screw located at the top of the exhalation filter assembly well, if applicable.

Using a long Phillips screwdriver, remove the Phillips screw located at the top of the exhalation filter assembly well, if applicable.

Step 3

  • Using a long Phillips screwdriver, remove the Phillips screw located at the exhalation port marked EXH, if applicable.

Using a long Phillips screwdriver, remove the Phillips screw located at the exhalation port marked EXH, if applicable.

Step 4

  • Using a long Phillips screwdriver, remove the Phillips screw from the outside of the plastic cover.

Using a long Phillips screwdriver, remove the Phillips screw from the outside of the plastic cover.

Step 5

  • Using a long Phillips screwdriver, remove the Phillips screw on the font left wall.
  • Using a long Phillips screwdriver, remove the Phillips screw on the right side of the wall.
  • Set the plastic cover aside.

Using a long Phillips screwdriver, remove the Phillips screw on the font left wall.

Using a long Phillips screwdriver, remove the Phillips screw on the right side of the wall.

Set the plastic cover aside.

Step 6

  • Using a long Phillips screwdriver, remove the 3 Phillips screws on the metal re-enforcement cover, if applicable, and set aside.
  • Remove the Exhalation Corner Assembly.

Using a long Phillips screwdriver, remove the 3 Phillips screws on the metal re-enforcement cover, if applicable, and set aside.

Remove the Exhalation Corner Assembly.

To reassemble your device, follow the steps in the reverse order.
