The camera video feed is distorted in some way.

Even if your device is mounted upside down, access the camera settings, video settings, and the “rotate video” toggle. This will reset custom settings made to the device.

Refer to the “cannot find video” section. Your wireless connection from the device to your computer may not be working.

Similarly to the related camera problems, access settings to your camera from your computer. There will be zoom, position adjustment and live viewing settings.

The camera cannot connect to your computer.

Your computer and camera must be connected to the internet. You may already be connected, if not, find the Wi-fi on your computer. Enter the respective password.

Online camera footage needs to be wirelessly connected to the camera. Find the bluetooth logo and make sure that is turned on. Restart your device.

Software is included in the box instructions, or found online by searching “Vivotek FD8169 program.” Download the computer software related to your camera and open the application. Follow the on screen instructions.

The camera viewer does not rotate to accommodate side to side movement.

Either your drivers are out of date, or the wrong set of drivers is installed. Make sure you have the latest set of drivers installed, and a device capable of receiving the camera feed.

Especially if the camera is outside, dirt or dust may interfere with the internal sensor’s ability to turn on its own. Clean off the lens, and make sure the camera is in a place where it will not get dirty again.

Your camera may be stopping because it encountered an obstacle when trying to turn. Make sure that wherever the camera is installed it can turn 360 degrees without touching anything else. Remove obstruction if there is one present. Try to manually turn the camera using an external program to see if the motor responds. Restart the camera and try turning again.

The camera will not follow/track moving individuals unless it is set to do so. Turn on your follow mode in the video capture settings unless you want it to capture only one angle at a time.

Recorded footage is empty or inaccessible.

Some SD cards need the proper format to work with this security camera. Format the SD Card to the appropriate type using another device.

Your SD card may also be broken/unreadable, make sure it functions properly using another device.

The camera needs a strong enough and constant supply of power to function.

Make sure the outlet has full power, and that the camera is plugged into its own outlet and not a power strip.

Make sure all the power cords are fully intact.

Your IR mode may not be turned on, or is not properly calibrated. If night scenes are not being filmed or appear as a black feed, follow the IR Troubleshooting to make sure the camera can capture night scenes.

Camera will not stay attached to where you want to mount it.

If the camera is loose or keeps falling from its attached spot, the security screw that connects the camera to the dome cover may be loose.

Check that the wiring harness is secured properly to the dome cover, and that the dome cover is correctly fitted onto electrical box.

The surface might be unsuitable for mounting.

Make sure that the electrical box is screwed into the mounting surface properly.

The camera’s LED lights are not turning on or not working.

As with the loss of footage troubleshooting, your camera may not be getting enough power.

Make sure that the camera is properly plugged.

Make sure that the outlet has power.

If the camera itself is functional, but the LED lights are still not powered, make sure that the camera is fully dry.

Turn the camera off and on again.

Make sure that the power supply wire from the LEDs to the motherboard is in working order (not cut broken or detached in any way).

If the LEDs are still not working, then they might be broken which means they will need to be replaced.
