“The laptop does not respond when power switched on.”
If the laptop does not turn on, you may need new batteries. Using a coin or a Phillips #2 screwdriver, open the battery cover on the bottom of the laptop. With the cover open, remove and replace the old AA batteries with a new pair. After the batteries have been replaced, close and re-secure the battery cover.
It is possible that the connection to the board needs to be repaired.
If your laptop does not turn on after checking all connections, the problem is a dead motherboard.
“The lights on the display do not work.”
If the light(s) on the display are on but dim, it is possible that your batteries may be low. You can follow the steps listed above.
If the light(s) on the display do not turn on at all, the LEDs may need to be replaced.
“The laptop does not play sounds or sounds are distorted.”
If your laptop plays distorted sounds, the batteries may need to be replaced.
If your laptop does not play any sounds , there may be a faulty volume switch that needs to be replaced.
If all connections are correct and your laptop still does not play sounds properly, the speaker may need to be replaced.
“The laptop does not change modes when the switch is used.”
If your laptop does not change modes when the mode switch is used, it is possible that the switch needs to be replaced.
“The laptop mouse does not function.”
If the mouse does not work when used, it is possible that the spring has become loose in the device and will need to be reconnected or replaced.
“The buttons do not do anything.”
If the laptop buttons do not function, the contacts on the board may need to be cleaned or replaced.
