“After holding down the power button for 5 seconds the device does not turn on. The screen remains black and there is no start up sound.”

Connect the VTech InnoTab 2 power adaptor and try turning the device on by holding the power button down for 5 seconds. If the device now properly turns on consider replacing the batteries. Which can be located on the back panel of the VTech InnoTab 2.

This device requires 4 AA batteries to function without the power adaptor plugged in.

Please make sure that the official VTech® recommended power adaptor is connected to the InnoTab 2 device. Make sure the device is connected to a live power outlet. Test by trying a different working electronic device on that outlet. If the innoTab 2 still fails to power on then we recommend buying a new VTech® adaptor.

The offical VTech® adaptor can be found at VTech® AC Adaptor. The VTech AC Adaptor is specially designed to help save on batteries and provides uninterrupted gaming time. Using the unofficial adaptor may result in undesired outcomes.

“Headphones are plugged into the VTech InnoTab 2 headphone jack, but no sound can be heard from the headphones.”

Unplug headphones from the VTech InnoTab 2 and try plugging them into a working audio device. If no sound can be heard from the headphones then the headphones are faulty. If sound can be heard from the headphones then the VTech InnoTab 2 headphone jack may be faulty.

“The VTech InnoTab 2 takes pictures but the image quality is blurred or unclear.”

When the VTech InnoTab 2 pictures are noticeably blurry or contains black spots the camera lens may need cleaning. Consider using a small cotton swab. Moisten one tip of the swab with water and apply gently to the lens in circular motions. After satisfied with the cleanliness of the lens use the dry side of the swab to dry the lens.

Test the VTech InnoTab 2 picture quality after completing the troubleshooting for “Dirty Camera Lens”. If the image quality is still blurred or unclear the issue may be with the VTech InnoTab 2 camera.
