" Tablet does not turn on when pressing the power button. Screen remains black and power on sound does not play. "

Plug in the Innotab 2S Power Adapter and turn on your device by holding the Power Button for a few seconds. Make sure you see the Power LED turn on when the device is powering up. If the device turns on successfully, consider replacing the 4xAA batteries in the back of the device. If using rechargeable batteries, remove the batteries from the device, charge them for the recommended amount of time suggested by the manufacturer and put them back into the Innotab 2S again. If the device still doesn’t turn on, consider replacing your rechargeable batteries.

Please make sure that you are using the VTech® recommended Power Adaptor with your Innotab 2S device. Off-brand power adaptors might not be built to specifications and could cause unpredictable behavior after a few uses. If using the correct adaptor, please make sure that you are connected to a live power socket, test by connecting a working electronic and turning on. If connected to a live power source, press and hold the Power Button for a few seconds. If your Innotab 2S device is still not responding, we recommend purchasing a new VTech® Power Adaptor.

" Headphones are plugged into the headphone jack, but no sound is coming through the headphones. "

Test that the Innotab 2S speakers are working properly, then plug the working headphones into the headphone jack. If audio is going in and out only when the headphones are plugged in, the audio jack may be faulty. Refer to this guide for replacing headphone jack.

Unplug the headphones from the Innotab 2S. Plug headphones into a device that you know plays audio properly. If headphones still do not play the audio properly, replace the headphones. If the headphones work, refer to “troubleshooting for a loose headphone jack.”

" The tablet takes pictures but the image is blurry or there are unwanted colored streaks in the image. "

When taking pictures with the Innotab, pictures are noticeably blurry or has black spots. The lense on your device might need cleaning. Using a small cotton swab, moisten the end of the swab with warm water and use it to wipe the lense and loosen dirt. After cleaning your screen, use the dry end of a cotton swab to wipe the screen dry.

If you notice moisture or condensation inside camera lense try using a hair dryer on low setting from different angles on the camera for the next 10 - 15 minutes. After blow-drying, leave the device out to dry for the next 24 hours and check again to see if the condensation has been removed. If not, attempt this procedure one more time before attempting to replace the camera unit on your device.

Test to see if the device corrects itself by turning your device off and then back on. If pictures are still blurry and you attempted the troubleshooting for “Dirty Lense” and “Water Damage” (above) the issue may be a loose connection. Follow the disassemble guide to remove the back of the device to get access to the camera connection. Detach and reattach the camera to the device and reassemble the device to check to see if this has fixed the ability to take pictures. If this has not fixed the problem, the camera may need to be replaced.
