Alternatively called a cleanroom suit, a bunny suit is a name for a special protective type of clothing covering the entire body. The suit is usually static-free, and its purpose is to eliminate all dust and particulate debris from contaminating the clean room. The bunny suit is often white in color and covers the person’s entire body, except the face. The person may have protective eyewear and use a breathing mask, depending on the clean room environment.
The bunny suit, or something very similar, is also used in nuclear power plants, to protect the person wearing it from nuclear material. A plastic raincoat is sometimes also worn over the top of the bunny suit for added protection.
