Alternatively known as a defective pixel, a dead pixel describes pixels that no longer light up. This issue can occur with any LCD, such as those used with desktop computers, televisions, mobile devices, and laptop screens. Dead pixels are often easiest to detect against a white background.

A stuck pixel is where the pixel illuminates but doesn’t change color. For example, a pixel may have changed to yellow and remains yellow when it should have turned to another color.
