The moiré is a distortion or pattern of an image caused by conflicting frequencies, two or more different resolutions overlapping each other. A moiré is a wavy image effect, grids or dots across the image, distorted colors, or a similar visual effect on a monitor, picture, or printed image. The image is an example of color distortion. As seen on the left-side, the house siding lines are multi-colored, and on the right-side it’s normal.
To correct moiré use an image editor, such as Adobe Photoshop, follow the steps below.
- Open the image in Photoshop and select the image.
- Once selected, create a new Layer.
- On the new layer type, change it from Normal to Color.
- Click the eyedropper tool and select the new color you want to use in place of the distorted color. For example, in our example image, we selected the dark gray portion of the lines.
- Finally, select the Paintbrush and paint the portions of the image you want to fix.
