A screencast is a recording of the output of a computer to a computer monitor or another output device. The recording is usually stored on the hard drive, flash drive or CD/DVD disc.

Audio may be included with a screencast, as narration for the recorded video. They can be used for training sessions, to teach other computer users how to use a particular software program or piece of hardware.
