A soft page break is a place in a document or text that automatically separates pages. Soft page breaks are inserted automatically by word processing programs such as Microsoft Word, instead of hard page breaks inserted manually by the user to separate pages. For example, if you pasted a lot of text, images, or other objects into a word processor that was more than could fit on one page, it would insert a soft page break.
