Alternatively known as an incremental search, an incremental find describes a type of searching that finds text as it is typed. For example, when searching for “computer,” in a Microsoft Word document, anything that matches what’s typed is highlighted as you type it. However, if you had only typed “co,” anything containing “co” will be highlighted, as shown below.
